Who are we?

Peter van Hussen posseses extensive experience working in Costa Rica and Latin America in the fields of tourism and real estate. He is a licensed real estate agent.
Peter was the owner/operator of the Boutique Hotel Canciones del Mar in Jaco Beach for 12 years and also General Manager for Daystar properties, a large real estate development firm. Prior to his role with Daystar, Peter’s gained extensive Tourism experience spanning over 20 years, from Costa Rican Hotels and also hotels in the US and Europe. Peter also has worked in the cruise ship business for Carnival Cruise Lines as First Purser.
He also served as the President of the Jaco Beach Chamber of Tourism and Vice President of the Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce. Peter is a committed environmentalist who has coordinated many local environmental and social responsibility programs, and is currently president of a trust for the conservation of the Central Pacific Region and Cocos Island National Park. Peter has lived in five countries and speaks five languages, including his native Dutch, Spanish, French, German and English. Peter has studied tourism and hotel management in Holland and Switzerland, and taught marketing at the Universidad Interamericana in Heredia.
